Poemen Chan received subspecialty training in glaucoma at Hong Kong Eye Hospital (HKEH) and Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science, Chinese University of Hong Kong (DOVS, CUHK) from 2011 – 2013, under the supervision of Professor Clement Tham. He was promoted as an associate consultant of Hong Kong Eye Hospital in 2014 and continue to serve in the glaucoma team of the said institution for another 3 years. He then joined the DOVS of the Chinese University of Hong Kong as an assistant professor and is actively involved in research and teaching. He is currently serving as the academic coordinator of the glaucoma service in HKEH, the programme director of glaucoma surgery subspecialty for the institute ophthalmic microsurgical training programme, secretary of glaucoma subspecialty for The 33rd Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress 2018 and glaucoma subspecialty liaison for World Ophthalmology Congress (WOC) 2018. His research interest focuses on ocular hypertension, risk assessment of glaucoma and cost-effectiveness of glaucoma treatment.
