Dr. Shaoying Tan has granted Medical Degree in Xiangya Medical School, the Central South University of China in 2010. She has completed Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2014. Dr. Tan worked in the 1st Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College in China as an Ophthalmology resident from 2014 to 2015, and joined the Ophthalmology Department of the Chinese PLA General Hospital as a Postdoctoral Clinician Scientist afterwards. She is working in Joint Shantou International Eye Center of Shantou University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (JSIEC) as an Ophthalmologist and Associated Professor currently. Dr. Tan has completed the International Ophthalmology Research Fellow in 2016, and has started Research Associate (Honorary) in DOVS, CUHK since 2017. She is a councilor of the Optic Neuritis Study Group of the Cross-Straits Medicine Exchange Association (CSMEA). Dr. Tan was rewarded by Prof. Yasuo Tano Travel Grant in the 32nd Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress (2017) and the Best oral abstracts in Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Congress (2016). She was also rewarded by the 59th China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. The research interests of Dr. Tan are: Autoimmune optic neuropathy, Non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy, Therapeutic strategy on Neuromyelitis optica, Primary angle closure glaucoma, Intraocular pressure measurement and Intraocular pressure fluctuation in Glaucoma.
