Chan Yun Kim is Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Severance Hospital, Yonsei University, College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. Concurrently, he serves as a director of Academic Affair in Yonsei University, College of Medicine and Secretary General in Korean Ophthalmological Society.

A/Professor Kim completed his medical training at the College of Medicine, Yonsei University in 1990, and subsequently gained a Masters of Medical Science, and a Doctor of Medical Science from the Yonsei University Graduate School, Seoul, Korea.

After serving as a Korean Army Medical Officer for 3 years, A/Professor Kim became a Fellow of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Severance Hospital, Yonsei University, College of Medicine, Seoul, Korea. Following this, he undertook a position as Instructor for the Department of Ophthalmology at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Hallym University Medical College in Gangwon, Korea, before moving to the US to pursue a Research Fellow in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at the University of Iowa, Iowa for 2 years. Upon his return to Korea, he assumed the position of Associate Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Severance Hospital, Yonsei University, College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea, where he remained until his current post.
