Dr. Yaxing Wang, MD, Beijing Tongren Hospital and Beijing Institute of Ophthalmology, Associate Professor.
She received her MD degree in Capital Medical University and Heidelberg University. She got her clinical training in Beijing Tognren Hospital, and obtained clinical research training in Moorfields Eye Hospital, and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. As a long-time manager of the world-renowned epidemiological study, the Beijing Eye Study, Dr. Wang has made great effort to push glaucoma-related researches in Chinese population, and revealed many important findings. Dr. Wang also designed a series of studies on in-vivo model of acute intraocular pressure elevation in human, which was innovative in glaucoma biomechanical research field. She has been co-authored in 180 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has been involved in several international collaborative studies, including the NCD Risk Factor study, the CREAM Study, and the Global Burden of Diseases Study.
Dr. Wang has been funded by the Beijing Training Program Foundation for the Talents, Beijing NOVA Program, and the Natural Science Foundation of China. She is an alumnus of the APAO Leadership Development Program (2014 to 2015). She is chosen to join the International Glaucoma Panel training program (2015-2017).
